With over 1,700 home improvement stores across the USA, this leading US retailer is the definition of a household name.

But in the critical spring sales period, where buyers and trade professionals flock to stores ahead of summer projects, there’s no shortage of competition for attention.

That means there’s a lot of advertising noise in this retail category, so the brand needed a way to cut through it.

Knowing that personalized, hyper-local audio advertising could help them do it, here’s what changed when they partnered with AudioStack.

Objectives:

Springfest is a national promotional event. While deals are available online, most customers prefer the reassurance of shopping in-store when purchasing large appliances and outdoor goods.

So, this retailer needed to reach both loyal members and prospective new customers with tailored messaging to drive footfall to physical locations.

The offer? Discounts on major appliances for non-members, alongside savings and bonus points for loyalty members. With strong offers on well-known brands, these were featured prominently in members-only “Doorbuster” deals.

With the offer defined, the campaign required three flights of ads over a 10-day period, targeting different audiences in both English and Spanish.

The brand could have broadcast generic messages to listeners near 385 targeted stores.

However, the retailer and its agency partner knew that hyper-local targeting, calling out the listener’s location, would be far more effective in driving store visits.

The challenge was producing these dynamic audio assets efficiently and cost-effectively.

Solution:

The retailer worked with in-house voice talent to produce global master audio assets, in this case, the core Springfest messaging heard nationwide.

However, recording localized callouts for each of the 385 stores would have been impractical in terms of both cost and time.

Instead, they adopted a hybrid approach: a studio-recorded master message combined with AI-generated location callouts.

This automated the repetition of location-specific messaging, something not feasible with traditional production workflows.

With AudioStack, they gained a partner capable of managing the campaign and generating hyper-localized audio assets through an AI-powered production workflow.

AudioStack also acted as a key integration partner, coordinating across brand, agency, and publisher.

With the partnership, messaging, and strategy in place, the campaign was ready to launch.

Results:

What typically takes days or weeks - scriptwriting, recording, mastering, and delivery - was reduced to seconds per asset and minutes to full campaign readiness.

As a result, the Springfest campaign launched with 1,540 unique audio assets produced, approved, and delivered in just 3 days, covering 385 store locations across three digital campaign bursts, including dynamic podcast insertion.

The commercial impact was significant:

  • 4.7% increase in incremental foot traffic to stores

  • 7.2% uplift in incremental sales driven directly by the campaign

  • $576k in additional sales from DMA-specific localized messaging
