AI Transformation
Three practical questions about enterprise AI Audio safety, answered.
When the limits to your creativity are removed with AI audio, it's exciting - and it also raises some important questions about AI audio safety. If you're wondering 'is Audiostack safe', these are the most common things brands and their creative partners ask us about voice cloning, copyright, and quality. So, you've come to the right place to find your answers.

Technically-minded? There’s a lot that goes on under the hood to ensure AudioStack generates only what you want it to generate. Read our technical security guide here -> https://docs.audiostack.ai/docs/security
If you are in a large, global organization, your first rodeo with Generative AI is a distant memory.
By now, you may already have a robust process to produce and curate visual content at a global scale, and perhaps use an enterprise-level virtual assistant to find information in your intranet.
If you were involved in signing that off, you'll remember the extensive discussions, checks, and quality control it went through before being launched within your company.
And when it comes to creating audio ads at scale with AI, the same due diligence is needed - but the challenges are unique.
That’s why you need to have the answers to some fundamental questions about AI audio safety.
Creating audio with AI - what have people told us they are most concerned about?
Making broadcast-quality audio production accessible to anyone, using lifelike human voices and with minimal human oversight is exciting, no doubt.
But if you have a wary head on your shoulders, you already know that the opportunity can pose some risks.
For a creative genAI tool, this usually comes down to two things. Let’s call them ‘the two A’s’:
Accuracy (what if genAI produces something you didn’t instruct it to?)
Appropriation (what if users can make things you don’t intend?)
In an enterprise environment, you know as well as we do that it’s impossible to monitor every action and blindly trust every user. But in our experience, when brands talk to us, those concerns are usually expressed as very simple, but intelligent questions.
And there are three that keep coming up again and again.
1. "What stops a user from cloning whatever voice they want?"
The issues: copyright, deepfakes and impersonation
The problem
As you may know, voice cloning is one of the most powerful applications of generative AI audio.
You provide a voice - your own, or a voice actor’s - and within minutes, you can have that same voice talk back to you, saying whatever you like.
As you also know, that same power - appropriated by a negligent or malicious user - could let you clone a celebrity voice or that of an employee… like a ‘leaked recording’ of a CTO trashing another member of staff.
Reputational damage, litigation, and copyright infringement are the alarm bells. But AI audio solutions providers have anticipated this.
The resolution:
The methods differ between solution providers, but AudioStack requires an exceptionally high level of verification for voice cloning. This includes:
Mandatory explicit consent from individuals for all voice cloning requests, with formal consent forms.
Written authorization from estates when working with historical figures
Direct communication with voice actors to verify their participation
No self-serve voice cloning features without thorough identity verification
Clear and transparent legal terms, privacy agreements and rights management policies
The right to be forgotten, with deletion of cloned voice and raw data upon request
Working exclusively with trusted B2B partners, there is no means for private individuals to access advanced voice cloning features within AudioStack.
In essence, every voice cloning request must be actively verified, protecting your brand and your actor’s voice. And in case you need clarification, you own the voices you upload.
2. “What stops anyone from making… whatever they want?”
The issues: access control, safety, inappropriate content
The problem
Open a new tab, and try to make an ad for anything you like with our ad spot creation tool. Come back when it has produced an entirely broadcast-ready audio ad. We don’t doubt you will be impressed with the result. But with your safety hat on, you might ask: ‘what stops it from creating anything explicit?’
Whether you give it a general prompt or a detailed script, you need to ensure two elements co-operate:
Your users can’t input a prompt that steers the tool to produce inappropriate content
The tool won’t generate that content, whether or not your user has intended to do so
As you know, the user and the tool have to work together to prevent outputs that would be damaging if they were made public.
But the difference is in how easy your tool makes it to ensure safe and responsible usage in a company with thousands of potential users, including freelancers and contractors.
The resolution:
Your existing responsible AI usage safeguards may be very well developed. But even for a creative AI tool that allows users a great deal of flexibility in what they generate, security is exceptionally high for AudioStack users and for the platform:
Bad Actor Prevention extends from robust access management policies and immediate suspension of accounts found trying to generate inappropriate content, to restricting accounts likely to defraud the system (e.g. temporary addresses and single IP addresses).
Automated/Manual Content Screening delivers automated and immediate content moderation for all material, whilst dedicated technical account managers provide the human-support element to root out potential problems before they happen.
Any AI tool is open to nuanced abuse - which is why multiple safeguards between technology, people and policy minimize the risks when producing content at a scale enterprises expect.
Speaking of…
3. "You can generate hundreds of ads at a time. How do you possibly QA them all?”
The issues: quality control, hallucination
The problem
As any creative or developer will tell you, you can automate manual QA, but you can’t entirely avoid it.
In the context of generative AI audio, where you may be generating thousands of pieces of dynamic creative - such as ads that vary a message for a listener based on the content of the podcast they are listening to - you know there are things AI might get wrong:
Placenames
Proper nouns, like brand names
Words specific to different regions
With any generative AI model, there’s also a low, but non-zero chance that the tool outputs something incorrect or incoherent - this is hallucination, and it can be embarrassing if it goes public.
When using synthetic voices created by different voice providers there’s a lot of room for inconsistency, which is why AudioStack quality controls them for you within its platform.
The resolution:
AudioStack generates highly-personalized audio at scale, not just with quality and customizability, but also accuracy your QA methods can depend on.
Autofix catches most hallucinations, like distortions and background noise, and regenerates your ad, QA’ing the content of your ad before it is even produced
The Voice Intelligence Layer within AudioStack’s API ensures synthesised speech is natural, letting you set pronunciation dictionaries for things your organization needs to say correctly.
AudioStack also flags audio files with scripts that are more likely to produce errors at generation, making it far easier to enable and simplify human-in-the-loop QA.
Make no mistake - human-in-the-loop QA is still needed. But a tool that makes it easier saves incredible time, and lets you work faster than your competitors.
