Vertellis is a company with a purpose - to bring people closer together.

Founded by three good friends, Bart, Liz and Lars in their living room in the Netherlands, their card games and journals are part of a global brand that encourages people to talk through what’s on their minds, and create more meaningful connections.

Objectives

While Vertellis deals in complex emotions, they had a clear goal for this campaign: to share the joy of their beautiful Chapters Self-Development Journal as a gift for its core customer base on International Women’s Day (2023).

To maximize their fixed budget for this one-off product campaign, Vertellis wanted to use dynamic audio to reach relevant people, keeping the International Women's Day promotion top of mind.

They needed to make their budget go as far as possible, and they did so with hyper-relevant targeting. To this end, the campaign was:

  • Advertised exclusively in California, one of Vertellis’ main markets.

  • Focused on a core customer profile who would likely purchase the gift - over 35s in the Sacramento area with a female partner.

  • Built with 3 different messages around mindfulness, thoughtfulness and conversation that would resonate with the persona and be played for 10 days in-the-lead up to IWD.

Solutions

Vertellis knew they would only achieve the greatest reach and personalization with audio.

That meant that they needed a partner who could not only create the assets they needed quickly and at scale; but who also had the know-how to deliver these to the right channels.

In a unique twist, Vertellis also wanted to show that innovation with AI didn’t compromise the core ethos of its brand to bring humans closer together. That’s why it chose to embrace AI to generate the poems and copy in the ad script, showing that AI could create messaging that was personal and human-first.

Lastly, AudioStack provided the link between Vertellis and iHEART in order to distribute it to listeners of local radio and podcasts who fit that ICP in strategic locations (Sacramento, Stockton and Modesto) - ensuring the most effective targeting of their campaign.

Results

AudioStack produced 56 unique audio ads for the campaign in minutes. 

In the 10 days that the campaign ran, Vertellis’ AI-generated - but human-first - audio ads were heard by over 1 million listeners in the Sacramento area as they commuted to work in the run-up to IWD.
